Madeline is 3!
We celebrated Madeline's 3rd birthday in with family in Sacramento with a train ride along the river, Mexican food, cake, and a pinata. She's been asking if she's still 3 ever since.

The Royal Wedding
I DVRed the 3am - 8am coverage of Prince William and Kate for us to watch after we woke up. The girls had their breakfast and tea in front of the TV. They were all very excited, but understandably, Charlotte and Madeline chose to finish and play outside before the ceremony even began. Grace was GLUED to the TV through the entire thing, even the long ceremony. I became bored and started doing things around the house, occasionally checking back in, but Grace's eyes never left the TV until I turned it off.

Grace and Madeline's conversation as they ate was so funny that I began writing it down:
Grace: "I love this tea....that's what they drink there."
Madeline: "Princesses are very kind"
G: "She's wearing high heals...maybe they're glass slippers!"
M: "He said 'Royal Family!!!'"
G: "I like that girl with the curled ponytail and the black bow to the side"
M: "REALLY???"
G: "That's the prince in the red jacket! And that's his brother! He has messy hair..."
M: "Maybe he should comb it"
G: "Is that the Queen? May I have more tea, please?"
M: "That's the parade!"
G: "Madeline, let's cheers our cups"
M: "Huh...Union Jack????"
G: "He said 'Abbey'...that's my friend!"
G: "I'm enjoying my lovely tea...like princesses do"
G: "That man has an EARRING!!!" (Elton John)
M: "Her MAJESTY!!!!"
G: "Like on Alice in Wonderland!"
M: "Those girls have gloves and flowers!...She has a crown!!!"
G: "That's a long dress...how will she dance?"
G: "She's a REAL PRINCESS!!!"
Grace: "I love this tea....that's what they drink there."

Peace for Pa-Pa
After a 5 year battle with 3 different types of cancer, Steve Copeland left this earth yesterday at the age of 65. His incredible physical strength and positive outlook on life allowed him to fight with 2 rounds of chemotherapy, 2 surgeries, and proton radiation. Our girls have lost a loving Pa-Pa, and his family and friends will always remember his constant smile and infectious laugh.
